Fire on Tirrenia cargo: great fear, but no injuries or damage
The flames broke out in the engine room of the "Beniamino Carnevale" sailing between Cagliari and Naples
A fire started this night in the engine room on the Tirrenia freight ship "Beniamino Carnevale" sailing between Cagliari and Naples.
The flames were promptly extinguished by the crew and there were no injuries or damage to people, nor to the loading of the goods carried on board.
The assistance of the tugs is requested, which have reached the cargo ship off the coast of Ventotene and are now accompanying it to the port of Naples.
In a note, Tirrenia applauds the ship's crew who promptly put out the fire with great professionalism.
The freight ferry has 14,398 tonnes and is capable of carrying up to 99 passengers.
