The Olbia Fire Brigade intervened this morning for a Mediterranean scrub fire in the "Lido del sole" area in the hamlet of Murta Maria, not far from the Mater Olbia hospital.

About 1000 m2 of land went up in smoke.

Two teams were on site who promptly put out the fire and prevented it from threatening the nearby houses.

The causes, which are still unknown, are being investigated.
