7.5 million euros are coming for the redevelopment of the water network in the municipalities of Cagliari and Quartucciu .

An impressive project that mainly concerns the capital, with the green light from Egas the works can already be contracted immediately by Abbanoa.

For Cagliari, the allocation is over 6.4 million euros for the relining of the 4,700-metre-long pipeline that connects the San Michele and Monte Urpinu reservoirs . Relining is the insertion into existing pipes of a polymerised flexible pipe which takes the shape of the host pipe, restoring its functionality.

Important intervention for 955 thousand euros also in Quartucciu for the replacement of 1.6 kilometers of pipelines involving numerous roads : via Barumini, via Sarcidano, vico I Cirene, vico III Cirene, vico III Nazionae, via Carlo Alberto Dalla Chiesa, via Spada, via and vico Ballero, via Orani, via Oliena, via E. Piria, via Cirenaica and via Quartu.

Both projects, assures Egas, will eliminate important losses along the city water route .

"In the last months of 2022 we managed to implement important water requalification interventions in Sardinia, especially in the centers most affected by the serious phenomenon of water dispersion", claims the president of Egas Fabio Albieri.
