Fear in Carbonia: fire in a building, residents evacuated

Fear in the late evening yesterday in a building in the center of Carbonia, when some residents noticed smoke coming out of a room used as a residence on the ground floor. A mattress went up in flames, it is not excluded that it could have caught fire from an electric blanket left on .

The firefighters from the Via Roma detachment arrived immediately on the scene. As a precaution, residents were evacuated from the building, as smoke had already invaded the stairwell.

In the meantime, the firefighters, who will have to ascertain the real causes of the fire, threw the still burning mattresses outside, in a square below. There was a lot of fear but fortunately no one was injured, including the tenant of the apartment. Only after 10 pm were the residents able to return to their homes.
