"It seems that Thomas Schael, director general of the Department of Health, is close to resigning. There's talk in the offices that he can't wait to escape President Todde's administrative and political chaos. Perhaps this is just gossip; even better, the president will have no problem denying it."

The complaint comes from the deputy group leader of the Brothers of Italy party, Fausto Piga , who continues his frontal attack on the state of the Sardinian healthcare system, following the latest alarm about a shortage of hospital beds . But the denial quickly arrived: according to sources within the presidency, these are completely unfounded rumors.

"The current Director General of Health for the Sardinia Region, chosen by Todde herself, took office last February, signing a five-year contract, thus assuming a long-term relationship to bring stability to the Sardinian healthcare system," Piga emphasized in a statement. "But if the news of his feared resignation were true, it would be yet another failure and waste of time for President Todde, who chooses her collaborators only to fire them because they are not up to the challenges facing Sardinia, as happened with Councilor Bartolazzi. Or, worse still, the very same people appointed by Todde are fleeing the political chaos of the wider field ." The Presidency, as mentioned, confirms that Director General Schael is and will remain regularly at work , currently busy with commitments at the ministry and on the council committee.
