She passed away quietly, with that gentle discretion that left space for others, never for herself . Nanda Sedda, a respected nurse at the Santissima Trinità hospital and a tireless spirit of Sardinian volunteerism, has passed away. Coordinator of the CSV Sardegna Solidale, co-leader of Libera Sardegna, and founder of the La Strada association, founded in Quartucciu prison in 1989, Nanda dedicated her life to those most in need, never asking for anything in return.

"It's a difficult day to talk about her, too sad. For me, she was much more than my right-hand man," said Giampiero Farru, president of Sardegna Solidale, with emotion. "She was the driving force of volunteering: she knew everyone, and everyone had to be involved. She never stopped."

This is how friends and colleagues remember her: a bundle of energy, tenacity, and heart. " She drew everyone in and never held back," they say.

Even when illness knocked on her door two years ago, Nanda chose silence . No one knew anything, by her own will, until just a few days ago. She continued to work, to listen, to care for others as if nothing had happened. A commitment so genuine that it even moved Don Luigi Ciotti, who on Sunday gave up participating in the Perugia peace march to pay his respects.

Her passing leaves a deep void, not only among volunteers and in the social world , but throughout Sardinia. Nanda Sedda is one of those women who taught, with her silent example, that true strength is that which is given.
