There were moments of apprehension last night in Piazza Piemonte in Villaggio Satellite , a neighborhood in Porto Torres awakened by the explosion of a car engulfed in flames . It was around 3:00 a.m. when residents were awakened by a loud bang caused by the bursting tires of the burning vehicle, a Renault Captur owned by a woman who lived in the building.

The fire, likely originating from the front, quickly consumed the car, reducing it to ashes. The residents, suddenly awakened, ran into the street to move their cars parked nearby to avoid being caught in the blaze.

The vehicle parked under the building's windows caused panic among residents. Debris splashed several meters onto the asphalt, reducing part of the square to a black carpet.

Firefighters arrived on the scene and extinguished the flames, securing the area. The cause of the fire remains unclear, but the most likely hypothesis is that it was arson.

"I was closing the window when I noticed the flames engulfing the car," a resident said. "I ran down the street and, after securing my car, alerted the fire department. We've been living in this situation for a long time; we can't live with the fear of fire. I hope the relevant authorities take action."
