The city of Alghero pays tribute to Salvatore Scognamillo, a former mayor and public administrator who shaped an important era in the city's political life.

Mayor Raimondo Cacciotto paid tribute to him, expressing the condolences of the city administration and the entire community. "Salvatore Scognamillo played an important role in the political history of the city of Alghero," Cacciotto stated. "He was first a councilor, then mayor from 1978 to 1980, and subsequently a city councilor until 1992."

The mayor emphasizes above all the human qualities that have distinguished his public service. "We have always appreciated his human qualities even more than his unquestionable political abilities: a balanced person, always available, with the discretion that characterizes capable and sensible people."

An engineer and teacher, Scognamillo was also a construction entrepreneur and political activist deeply attached to his city. "He was one of those Algheresi who loved being among the people," Cacciotto recalls, "speaking our language and supporting our culture. We will miss someone like him. Our deepest condolences go to his family," the mayor concludes.
