He wanted to board a flight to London, but his passport was fake. Border police officers at Cagliari-Elmas airport arrested a 51-year-old Chinese citizen, accused of possession of false identity documents and false declaration to a public official about his identity.

In the afternoon, at checks for international connections, he showed a document made out to a Japanese. From the checks carried out in the computer systems, it emerged that the passport had non-compliant and unreadable characteristics in the biometric data and in the guard page.

The Chinese, once identified, has already been reported for illegal stay in the European territory and for false declarations of personal identity.
