The maxi proceeding on the bogus certifications used by about forty seafarers from La Maddalena, Cagliari, Olbia, Palau, Santa Teresa, Tempio and Dorgali has been concluded.
For all, the investigating judge of the Tempio Court accepted the requests for probation, i.e. the socially useful jobs that replace the penal sanction .
According to the reconstruction of the prosecutor, based on a long investigation entrusted to the Coast Guard of La Maddalena, the documents were printed in Torre del Greco and then sold to interested parties in Gallura.
Seafarers could thus present themselves for embarkation with papers in order, without following the courses. We talk about first aid, rescue, survival, fire prevention, security and certification of navigation periods.
The notice of concluded investigations was addressed to 46 people.
In addition to the seafarers in possession of the false certificates, the subjects who printed the certificates were reported. The requests of the lawyers Pier Franco Tirotto, Roberto Sirena, Gianluca Cataldi, Antonello Desini, Giacomo Serra, Aldo Kersevan and Luca Montella were accepted.
