Fuel caps starting in no particular order: 136 Enilive distributors in Sardinia

Fuel price cuts have begun in a haphazard fashion. Eni's measure, which caps gasoline and diesel prices at stations bearing the six-legged dog logo, goes into effect today: €2.19 per liter on diesel and €1.99 on gasoline.
The photo shows one of the first stations to implement the new rates: the station on Via Cagliari in Carbonia. Throughout the day—the start time was set for 8:00 a.m. today—all Eni operators will implement the new rates.
In Sardinia, there are 136 Enilive service stations, evenly distributed across the island. And they will be the first to comply with the price cap. However, there are also Eni-owned service stations operated by third parties, who may have purchased fuel supplies in recent days. They will receive reimbursement for the costs of disposing of the stocks acquired by individual operators before the price cap was announced, following the implementation of the cap.
Yesterday, Socar, which manages the IP network in Italy, announced its intention to follow Eni's path. However, the restriction will be implemented gradually at IP-branded stations , and figures have not yet been released.
The downward trend comes at a time when fuel prices had breached all psychological thresholds: while a few weeks ago, prices were around €2 per liter, yesterday in Sardinia, some service stations—in Ogliastra and Sassari—were charging prices exceeding €2.50 for diesel. The island average was around €2.40.
