From afar, she saw the bag of garbage abandoned along the road and realized it had just been left by a couple who were walking away. So, she, an environmentalist and animal rights activist, approached and politely—but also very firmly, so much so that she ended up uttering an insult—invited the responsible people, two tourists, to collect their rubbish.

The Sardinian woman who taught the lesson in civility recounts the incident, which dates back to the last few hours in Golfo Aranci: "At the Terrata stop sign, I noticed a car stopped. Just behind it, a bag abandoned on the side of the road that hadn't been there half an hour before," she explains. "I approached and started filming. The driver looked at me and decided to drive away. When he realized I was still filming, he turned back."

It wasn't an oversight, she states confidently: "It was a terrible act. They had stopped to abandon a garbage bag. The 'lady's' arrogant attitude really made me angry. Enjoying the beauty of Sardinia and then treating it like a landfill is unacceptable, and I won't remain silent in the face of such behavior or turn a blind eye. Polite tourists are welcome, but we can do without people like that. Those who appreciate our beaches, our land, our sea are welcome. But respect must go hand in hand with them."
