Fake Halloween masks, pumpkins, and gadgets. Three thousand items without safety requirements were seized by the Arbatax Financial Police.
Company personnel, led by Lieutenant Leonardo Di Blasi, have been in action in recent hours in several local towns, coinciding with Halloween, when the military has intensified its control activities to prevent and combat all forms of illegal activity, counterfeiting, and the sale of products potentially hazardous to consumer health.
The seized items, which do not comply with the law because they lack the European CE conformity mark, are partly composed of devices that can be connected to the electrical current and, as such, pose an additional risk to the safety, health, and security of consumers.
Only certifications, combined with the correct use of the goods, guarantee product quality and complete safety. The owners of the businesses where the items were seized have been reported to the Nuoro Chamber of Commerce and are facing an administrative fine of up to €25,823.
The Arbatax company's action demonstrates the Guardia di Finanza's commitment to economic oversight of the region and to monitoring activities that pose risks to the protection of consumers and businesses that comply with market regulations.
