Sardinia is burning under a blanket of fire and scorching winds. The Civil Protection Department has issued a maximum alert: extreme danger of fires along the entire eastern coast of the island.

An explosive situation that has forced the mayors of several municipalities to take drastic decisions: beaches closed in Dorgali and Siniscola , with urgent ordinances to protect tourists and residents.

The images of the fire that ravaged the Punta Molentis area in southeastern Sardinia yesterday have left their mark . And today, with the Civil Protection bulletin marking it a red flag, no one can afford to let their guard down.

In Dorgali, Cala Cartoe, Cala Osala, and Cala Fuili are closed to the public, with access blocked and monitored. The situation is similar in Siniscola: beaches are closed and the area is constantly monitored.

The risk is too high, especially in areas where dry vegetation borders the coast and a lit cigarette butt can turn into an inferno.
