Over the weekend, the checks by the State Police were intense to counter the so-called "Saturday night massacres" and to increase the safety of road users, in particular as regards driving under the influence of alcohol or alcohol. drugs and not wearing seat belts.

The checks were carried out by the Nuoro Traffic Police Section, with the employee Detachments of Lanusei, Orosei, Siniscola, in the urban area of San Teodoro and Tortolì.

In total, 88 drivers were checked, of which 7 with positive results in the breathalyzer test, aged between 19 and over 45 years. The most serious criminal sanction was applied to six of these, with seizure of the vehicle. One, however, was surprised with a rate higher than 1.97 g/l.

The worrying fact that continues to emerge - it is underlined - is the incidence of drivers checked, in oral sessions in the evening and at night on weekends, resulting in a state of intoxication.

43 offenses were charged for failure to use seat belts and other miscellaneous offenses. A total of 70 points were deducted from driving licenses.
