During the night between Saturday and Sunday, Carabinieri officers from the Quartu Sant'Elena station, supported by personnel from the local Mobile Radio Section and colleagues from the Selargius and Sinnai stations, conducted a flurry of checks along the Poetto coastline and in the areas most affected by nightlife. And there was no shortage of action.
Four people were reported to the Prefecture after being found in possession of drugs , while a worker from Selargius was also charged at large. During the search, which the police decided to extend to the man's vehicle, they found a switchblade measuring over sixteen centimeters in length.
The control system also included patrolling the main roads, leading to the identification of nearly 160 people and the inspection of 75 vehicles in transit.
Among the drivers stopped was a 27-year-old resident of Monserrato, who was driving without ever having obtained a license. The investigation revealed that the young man had already committed the same offense within the previous two years, and he was subsequently charged with repeat offenses, while the vehicle was placed under administrative seizure.
