Large-scale operation by the Carabinieri of the Sestu Station, with the support of the Operational and Radiomobile Unit of Quartu Sant'Elena, the Stations of Monserrato and Selargius and the Anti-adulteration and Health Unit of Cagliari, against the nightlife and illegal driving on the roads of the territory.
In addition to inspections of some private clubs, the military also carried out some checkpoints on the roads.
The investigations led to the reporting to the Prefecture of four people for taking narcotic substances and to the reporting of a fifth person for possession of drugs for the purpose of dealing and receiving stolen goods.
Among those arrested and caught with doses of marijuana and cocaine, a 19-year-old student from Quartu Sant'Elena; a 34-year-old worker from San Nicolò Gerrei; a 38-year-old unemployed man from Monserrato.
A 53-year-old worker from Selargius also got into trouble, found in possession of 6.50 grams of cocaine, 12.50 grams of marijuana and 2 grams of hashish, in addition to 480 euros in cash, believed to be the proceeds of drug dealing. The man also had a precision scale and a stolen mountain bike worth over a thousand euros, as well as tools of dubious origin, on which further checks are still underway.
A total of 61 vehicles were checked and 107 people were identified, four of whom were fined for violations of the Highway Code and reported for driving under the influence of alcohol and driving without a license that had never been obtained. Among these, a 21-year-old unemployed man from Sestu was found driving a car with a blood alcohol level higher than double the legal limit , while a 44-year-old from Sinnai, already fined previously, was stopped driving a motorcycle without ever having obtained a license.
Finally, during the operation, the Carabinieri also checked 18 individuals subjected to alternative measures to detention. Three of them were reported for evasion : a 47-year-old unemployed man from Selargius who arbitrarily left his home where he was under house arrest; a 22-year-old waiter from Selargius found far from his place of detention; and a 75-year-old pensioner from Quartu Sant'Elena, under house arrest, who was found to be absent from his home.
