Emergency landing at Olbia airport to allow rescue for a woman who had a "double cardiac arrest" on board a Nouvelair flight that took off from Tunis and headed for London. The British website Metro reported the news.

According to the tabloid's reconstruction, which cites one of the passengers on the plane as a source, a passenger suddenly felt ill on Wednesday while the plane was flying over Sardinia.

Suspecting that the woman was the victim of a heart attack, the on-board staff and a doctor who was among the passengers immediately helped her, giving her cardiac massage. Dramatic moments were experienced in the fuselage: twice the passenger's heart stopped and twice it started beating again thanks to resuscitation maneuvers.

Given the extreme gravity of the situation, the commander of the aircraft requested and received approval for the landing in Gallura and, once on the ground, the passenger was urgently admitted to hospital.

The episode was also reported by the Facebook page “Tunisian Aircraft Spotters”, which explains: «Fortunately, thanks to everyone's efforts, the life of the woman, a Libyan citizen, was saved. Accompanied by her son, she remained in Italy to receive intensive and adequate medical care. A big thank you – conclude the managers of the page – to all the Nouvelair crew for their professionalism".
