Francesco Corda, 64, was found in good health by Carabinieri officers from the Dorgali station in a rural home in the Iloghe area, near the Pedra e Othoni dam. His daughter had reported him missing on August 27th at the Olbia-Poltu Quatu Carabinieri station. The search for the man, who lives between Olbia and the Barbagia region, began on the evening of August 26th, when some family members, concerned about the lack of news for several days, contacted law enforcement.

Although initial attempts to locate him in the areas usually frequented by the man were unsuccessful, the operations continued . At the direction of the Prefecture of Nuoro, a large joint operation was activated, coordinated by the Provincial Command of the Carabinieri, with the support of the Fire Brigade, the Nuoro Police Headquarters, the Civil Protection Department, the Dorgali Forestry Station, and the soldiers of the Sardinian Hunters Helicopter Squadron.

The use of specialized equipment was crucial: helicopters, drones, divers, and two specialized canine units for missing persons, from the Carabinieri Canine Center in Florence. In addition to the field search, the investigative work of the Carabinieri was crucial. Thanks to the cooperation of the public and the analysis of reports, including those received via social media, they were able to reconstruct the man's habits, contacts, and possible movements .

This morning's discovery brought to an end days of intense activity and great apprehension. Francesco Corda, though shaken, did not suffer serious injuries and was immediately assisted by rescuers . He will soon be able to return home and be reunited with his family.
