It was a night of terror on Provincial Road 27, between Villagrande and Tortolì . Around 2:30 a.m., an Audi A3 carrying two young locals suddenly veered off the road and crashed violently into the guardrail. The impact was so violent that it crumpled the car , turning the passenger compartment into a metal trap in which the driver and passenger remained trapped.

Rescue efforts began immediately. Firefighters from the Lanusei detachment rushed to the scene, using shears and spreaders to cut through the sheet metal and free the injured . Once extricated from the car, the two boys were handed over to emergency personnel, who placed them in ambulances for emergency transport to the hospital. The Carabinieri also intervened at the scene of the accident, carrying out the usual investigations to reconstruct the exact dynamics and establish the causes of the loss of control of the vehicle.
