"I'm sorry, it was a sudden outburst, I apologize." So says Emanuele Perra, the 47-year-old from Pirri arrested for the attack, which took place in Cagliari, on the doctor Roberto Sollai.

Apologies aside, Perra, in front of the investigating judge Elisabetta Patrito, however, availed himself of the right to remain silent. At the end of the hearing, the judge confirmed the precautionary custody and the 47-year-old therefore remains detained in the prison of Uta.

Meanwhile, the victim of the attack will require surgery, with the doctor at risk of not returning to work for almost two months.
