The system cannot handle the premature death of the pediatrician Antonietta Avignone, who died in recent days at just 64 years old in her home in Tasonis, in the countryside of Sinnai.

Since Monday, the day of his death, 914 children from Quartucciu no longer have a pediatrician. «And to the families who asked for information on how to behave, the local health authority responded without mincing words to make do by looking for a new pediatrician among those available in the municipalities of the vast area of Cagliari», denounce the city councilors of Cagliari Giulia Andreozzi (Possibile ) and Camilla Soru (Pd) who have been waging a battle for a year to ensure medical assistance for the little ones.

"We are very worried", continue the exponents of the centre-left, "because in addition to depriving families of assistance in the vicinity, to date the available paediatricians would not be able to absorb all 914 young patients without once again derogating from the maximum limits".

This is why the appeal is made to the Local Health Authority, "to take immediate action to advertise the vacated position, so that children are guaranteed the assistance to which they are entitled".
