No place to proceed ”. This is what the prosecutor Emanuele Secci asked about the five generals , all former Chiefs of Staff, who ended up under investigation with the hypothesis of a culpable disaster in the context of the investigation into the effects of years of exercises in the Teulada shooting range.

In particular, the Prosecutor's Office ascertained the state of devastation of the "Delta Peninsula" , an area of three square kilometers where, from 2008 to 2016, 860 thousand training shots were fired, with 11,875 missiles, equal to 556 tons of war material.

The prosecutor in charge of the file had already requested the filing , but the investigating magistrate Alessandra Tedde had ordered him to be indicted .

Today, however, believing that he did not have the elements to be able to hold up an accusation in court, the magistrate of the Prosecutor's Office asked for the acquittal of the five generals : Giuseppe Valotto, 76 years old from Venice; Claudio Graziano, of 69, of Turin, today head of the Military Committee of the European Union; Danilo Errico, also 69 years old resident in Turin; Domenico Rossi, 71, from Rome, and Sandro Santroni, 72, from Ancona.

The civil parties who renewed to judge Giuseppe Pintori the request for an indictment that give rise to a trial, so as to establish whether there is responsibility for the disaster, differ.

On 11 November the word will pass to the Ministry of Defense, called into question as civilian responsible, then on 2 November it will be up to the defenses and the judge could rule.
