Disability, commissions at a standstill: thousands of backlogged applications and users waiting

Negotiations are in full swing but in Sulcis Iglesiente the five new disability commissions set up by the ASL are not taking off . Worse: one of the three that have already existed for years , despite a backlog of 3,500 practices, had to slow down its activity between August and September to allow staff to (dutifully) take advantage of their holidays .
The euphoria of May-June has long since vanished, when, to overcome the heavy delays in completing the procedures, the Sulcis ASL had managed to implement a call for tenders for the establishment of five new disability commissions. Although all aspects were clear, including the remuneration ones, as the days passed, the perplexity of the administrators who did not sign the contract arose: the start of the five new commissions, consequently, never happened. They exist only on paper.
Recently the ASL has recognized the difficulties and decided to draw from additional rankings. It seems that at least a couple of employees, after intense negotiations , have agreed to be part of some of the five new commissions. But in the meantime the users are still waiting for a visit, some have been on the list for years .
