Inspectors from the Olbia Local Health Authority at work in the Renault dealership owned by the Saba brothers, in the industrial area of Olbia, hit yesterday by a large fire.

A worker was burned while several cars parked in the square were destroyed.

The experts will have to check whether the workplace safety measures have been respected and the accident prevention rules have been applied. Investigations are also underway to understand the causes of the fire: the damage estimate could reach several hundred thousand euros.

The flames broke out around 7.30pm last night in the dealership near Via Singapore, probably coming from an oven in the body shop and then spreading throughout the warehouse.

Two teams of firefighters from Arzachena and four from Olbia intervened on site together with a large capacity tanker from the airport detachment. Around thirty men were involved for over an hour in the operations, first to extinguish and then to clean up the area which remained shrouded in a blanket of black smoke for hours.
