Flurry of sanctions by officials of the Customs Office and the Financial Police of Cagliari against travellers, both Italian and foreign, who landed at Elmas airport with apparently designer clothes and accessories in their suitcases, but which turned out to be counterfeit .

About forty items were seized, bearing the "counterfeit" brands of well-known fashion companies, from Nike to Versace, passing through Adidas, Chanel, Dior, Luis Vuitton, Balenciaga and Gucci.

«They were transported – explains a note from Customs and Finance – in the luggage of travellers, both of Italian and foreign nationality, coming from Albania, Thailand, Turkey, the Philippines, Bangladesh and Morocco».

After the discovery, "the brand owners' experts ascertained that the garments, despite being well reproduced, have lower quality characteristics than those of the original production".

If their authenticity had been recognized, it is underlined, the commercial value of the fake products would have been around 15 thousand euros.
