Desecrated tombs in Sorso: a 47-year-old denounced

One of the presumed responsible for the act of desecration against the municipal cemetery of Sorso has been identified.

The 47-year-old man, a native of the place and already known to the police, was denounced for the crimes of vilification of the graves and damage.

The episode dates back to the night between Saturday and Sunday, when an unknown number of people climbed over the gate of the cemetery, targeting about twenty graves and their furnishings. Some photographs have been damaged, the sacred objects placed in the niches have been uprooted and thrown to the ground together with an effigy that reproduced the Madonna.

Some statues placed in the tombstones were destroyed. In order to not be enough, the thugs have abandoned bottles of spirits on the graves. A deplorable act condemned by the mayor Fabrizio Demelas and by the entire community.

The bitter surprise from family members who went to the cemetery on Sunday morning to greet their loved ones. Immediate denunciation to the carabinieri of Sorso, led by the commander Gianluca Porcheddu.

The investigations in a few hours made it possible to identify and trace one of the authors of the "vile gesture", an episode that shocked the country.
