Igor Sollai on trial with immediate judgment . This is what the investigating judge of the Court of Cagliari Ermengarda Ferrarese ordered at the request of the public prosecutor Marco Cocco.

The trial will begin on February 26 in the Assize Court.

Sollai , on November 22nd, in prison, after a long interrogation , confessed to the murder of his wife Francesca Deidda , the 42 year old killed in her home in San Sperate last May.

According to investigators, Sollai killed his wife with a series of hammer blows , transporting the body on the old state road 125 and hiding the body, in a bag, next to the old Roman bridge, in the territory of San Vito. Sollai's defense excludes premeditation , supported instead by the prosecution, ready to formulate in court the request for life imprisonment.

In the meantime, after the autopsy results were filed, the Cagliari Prosecutor's Office ordered the 42-year-old's body to be returned to her family . The funeral will take place on Saturday.
