The trial for the femicide of Francesca Deidda , the 42-year-old woman from San Sperate killed on May 10 in her home with at least 8 hammer blows to the head by her husband Igor Sollai , who was a year older than her, who later confessed to the crime after months of declaring his innocence, maintaining that his wife had left home voluntarily, has opened before the judges of the Cagliari Assize Court.

Before the court presided over by Judge Lucia Perra, with her colleague Roberto Cau at her side, this morning the prosecutor Marco Cocco produced the entire indictment file with the consent of Sollai's defenders, lawyers Carlo Demurtas and Laura Pirarba.

On May 7, therefore, we will go directly to the discussion with the public prosecutor's closing statement.

The murdered woman's relatives also appeared in court : her brother Andrea Deidda is defended by the lawyer Gianfranco Piscitelli , while her maternal aunts are assisted by the lawyers Elisabetta Magrini, Roberto Pusceddu and Pamela Piras.

The defendant also appeared in the courtroom , escorted by a large number of prison police officers, remaining silent the entire time in the assize court cage . Throughout the trial, Francesca Deidda's brother did not take his eyes off him.
