The railway bridge, which is used by the Little Green Train, was damaged on July 3 by a heavy vehicle traveling on the SS129 highway to Bosa, near the Macomer exit. It has not yet been repaired and is unlikely to be restored before the beginning of August.

The bridge was seriously damaged by a heavy vehicle following the tragic accident on State Road 131 (which was blocked in both directions for several hours). Traffic had been diverted to secondary roads, including the Macomer-Bosa route. Since then, all operations of the Green Train have been suspended, threatening to severely impact tourism, managed by the Esedra cooperative, with the cancellation of thousands of reservations, not only for the month of July, but also for August.

"These reservations are a huge boon for tourism and therefore for the entire local economy," says the cooperative's president, Rossana Muroni. "They risk ruining the work we've done all year, for which no one will be able to reimburse us."

For its part, ARST, immediately after the accident, began the repair procedures, which appear complex and also involve ANAS.

"While ARST is ready to carry out the work," says Mayor Riccardo Uda, "we will have to wait for the decision of ANAS, which will have to close the road, State Road 129 to Bosa, for at least a full day and divert traffic, which is quite busy at this time, onto secondary roads." At this point, it is hoped the work can be completed within the next week.
