Many volunteers are already hard at work, but on Sunday the Poetto coastline will once again be in the spotlight with a day dedicated to cleaning the stretch of beach from Cagliari to Quartu Sant'Elena.
The meeting point will be in front of Golden Beach , on the border between the two municipalities, where a collective action will begin that will see municipal administrations and volunteer associations (Rebelterra, Cittadinanza Attiva, OIKOS of Quartu Sant'Elena, Legambiente Cagliari, Legambiente Sardegna, Plastic Free Cagliari Cittadinanza Attiva Sardegna) work side by side.
The initiative is the result of a collaboration between the Environmental Departments of the Municipalities of Cagliari and Quartu Sant'Elena and local associations , with the direct involvement of the community. This collaborative effort aims not only to physically clean the beach, but also to strengthen the sense of shared responsibility that makes the area more vibrant and cared for. This alliance was formed with a clear goal: to repair the damage left by recent storm surges, which, during the last weather alert, deposited debris and waste along the coast, compromising the decency of the areas. Participating is simple: just show up at the scheduled time, wearing work gloves, ready to lend a hand.
