The thousand-year-old wild olive tree of sa Tanca Manna of Cuglieri is still alive, despite the almost fatal wounds of the great fire of 2021. Thanks to the care of the scholars of the Center for the conservation of biodiversity of Cagliari, who had collected the seeds of the monumental plant and given it new life life, has sprouted and its children will now be planted in the school courtyard by the Cuglieritan students.

So as not to forget the great environmental tragedy of two years ago , on Thursday 14 December at 9.30 am in Cuglieri the initiative "Every day is a good day to save a tree" will be held , with the pupils of the comprehensive institute protagonists of the planting of the children of the the thousand-year-old wild olive tree of Sa Tanca Manna.

Organized by the Montiferru Association, active for over two years for the protection of the forests and landscape of Montiferro, in collaboration with the municipal administration, the Sardinian section of the Italian Botanical Society, the Santu Lussurgiu Comprehensive Institute of Cuglieri and Legambiente Sardegna.

Before the planting, the following will speak: Patrizia Atzori, director of the Santu Lussurgiu-Cuglieri comprehensive institute, Andrea Loche, mayor of Cuglieri, Pier Paolo Arca, president of the Montiferru Association, Ignazio Camarda, botanist and president of the Monumental Trees working group, Bernabé Moya, botanist and expert in monumental trees, Gianluigi Bacchetta botanist and professor at the University of Cagliari, Mauro Fois botanist of the Center for the Conservation of Biodiversity, then Emanuele Farris botanist and president of the Sardinian section of the Italian Botanical Society.
