A large crowd attended this morning, in the parish of Sant'Eusebio in Cagliari, the funeral of Salvatore Pisu, a well-known 118 doctor and professor of bioethics at the theology faculty of the capital.

Pisu , who died on Saturday at the age of 65 after a long-term neurodegenerative disease , was also a member of the Catholic lay association “Memores Domini,” whose members live the precepts of poverty, chastity and obedience under the aegis of the Communion and Liberation movement.

For 118 he performed numerous interventions, including with the helicopter rescue. The funeral ceremony was officiated by Don Felice Nuvoli, priest and professor of Pedagogy and Theology, who wanted to remember Pisu as " a person with a generous heart, always ready to help others ."

The hearse with the coffin then left for Meana Sardo for the second funeral, at 4.30 pm in the church of San Bartolomeo: on the 131, his 118 colleagues paid homage to him with the sirens of their ambulances .
