Covid vaccine, fourth slow doses in Sardinia: less than 800 injections per day
On the island, over 66,000 over 50s have refused to protect themselves. Yesterday three showed up to receive the first administrationThree of them showed up yesterday in Sardinia to receive the first dose of the Covid vaccine. In all, just under 900 Sardinians went to the hubs, 819 for the fourth. In the past week, fewer than 800 residents have received injection number four per day.
Few, compared to the rhythms of just a year ago. But the virus now, even if it continues to circulate, is much less scary. In the latest bulletin for the island, a figure could be taken as a warning light: 14 more hospitalized in the medical area than on Friday. Not a few. On the other hand, however, there is the data of patients in intensive care. Yesterday there were just 22 more, throughout Italy. Zero on this side of the Tyrrhenian Sea.
With the autumn season, experts recommend, especially for the elderly, the double protective inoculation: that against the coronavirus accompanied by that of the flu. But their advice collides with numbers that, for the booster, remain low.
Then there are the hard and pure, those who have never had the vaccine. According to the latest government report, there are over 10 thousand among the over 80s, 9.107 among those who are between 70 and 80 years old, 19.969 among those born in the following decade and just under 30 thousand among the fifties. So more than 66 thousand unvaccinated among the over 50s. But among them there are also those who have contracted the virus and are cured.
