Never so bad since the beginning of the year. Sardinia seems to be heading towards the peak of infections from Covid-19, expected at the end of the month, and according to the Gimbe Foundation, in its usual report, between 9 and 15 February the island records a new deteriorating performance for the currently positive ones per 100,000 inhabitants (2,192 compared to 1855 the previous week).

There is also an increase in new cases (2.3%) even compared to the last survey.

Instead, the "geography" of the critical issues changes with the highest incidence that is found, this time, in Oristano which with 1,409 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants (more than double compared to the period between 2 and 8 February) indicates the worst data of Italy. On the other hand, the figure drops slightly in Southern Sardinia (from 1,103 to 1,098).

The metropolitan city of Cagliari (1,092, but also in this case down compared to 1175 in the last survey) is always above a thousand cases per 100 thousand inhabitants. The province of Sassari is stable with 754, while the incidence in that of Nuoro decreases by about 200 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants (674).

The percentages of beds occupied by Covid patients in the medical area (25%) and in intensive care (15.2%) continue to remain above the saturation threshold.

In Italy there are currently 14 Provinces with an incidence of more than 1,000 cases of Covid-19 per 100,000 inhabitants. The 14 provinces are: Oristano (1.409), Macerata (1.299), Syracuse (1.234), Fermo (1.209), Ascoli Piceno (1.199), Reggio di Calabria (1.176), Bolzano (1.147), Messina (1.115), Lecce ( 1,108), South Sardinia (1,098), Cagliari (1,092), Rieti (1,044), Ancona (1,035) and Ragusa (1,001).
