The epidemiological curve linked to Covid-19 worsens in Sardinia , in the week from 26 October to 1 November. In fact, on the island there are currently 540 positive cases per 100 thousand inhabitants , albeit with a decrease in new cases (-16%) compared to the previous week. This is what the Gimbe Foundation notes.

The highest incidence is recorded in the metropolitan city of Cagliari with 327 per 100 thousand inhabitants. The most consistent decrease in the Nuorese area: 157 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants and -34.6% of new infections. In Sassari the incidence is equal to 271 (-11.1% of cases), in Oristano to 182 (-31.9%) and in South Sardinia to 157 (-22.9%).

The number of beds in the medical area (5.8%) occupied by Covid-19 patients remains below the national average, while the number of beds in intensive care is above the national average (2.9%).

VACCINES - On the vaccination front, as of November 9 the percentage of the population over 5 years that has not received any dose of vaccine is equal to 10.8% (Italy average 10.5%) to which the temporarily protected over 5 year population must be added. , as she recovered from Covid-19 for less than 180 days, equal to 1.2%.

The Sardinians over 5 years old who have not received the third dose of vaccine are 13% (Italy average 10.8%) to which we must add those recovered for less than 120 days, who cannot receive the third dose immediately, equal to 4.7%.

The vaccination coverage rate with fourth dose is 16.9% (Italy average 23.6%), while among children (5-11 years) only 41.7% completed the cycle (Italy average 35.3% ) to which to add a further 4.5% (Italy average 3.3%) with the first dose only.
