The daily infections of Covid in Sardinia are still on the rise. And unfortunately the numbers on victims and those on hospitalizations in the medical area are also rising.

With over 23,500 swabs performed in 24 hours, the positivity rate on the island stands at 6.8%.

Here is the full bulletin released by the Region on Friday 21 January 2022: “In Sardinia today there are 1610 further confirmed cases of COVID positivity (in the previous update they were 1,432, ed), on the basis of 4524 people tested. A total of 23,578 swabs were processed, including molecular and antigenic.

There are 30 patients admitted to intensive care units (the same number as yesterday).

The patients admitted to the medical area are 269 (four more than yesterday).

There are 22,161 cases of home isolation (276 more than yesterday).

There were 8 deaths (on Thursday there were three victims, ed): an 84-year-old man residing in the province of Sassari; an 88-year-old man residing in the province of Nuoro; four men and a woman, aged 63, 79, 81, 95 and 68, all residing in the province of South Sardinia; an 82-year-old woman residing in the province of Oristano ".
