Opened on Christmas Eve but still closed for the moment. At least for this night the emergency room of the Holy Trinity in Cagliari did not come into operation for Covid patients and the rescue machine was unable to transport the patients who tested positive in the structure renovated and inaugurated yesterday.
The announcement of the conclusion of the first tranche of the strengthening works of the department was given yesterday morning with a ceremony in the presence of the councilor for health Mario Nieddu.
The works, which lasted about a month, led, so it was reported, to the expansion of the waiting room spaces and to the doubling of the beds in the intensive short-term Observation area. At the moment the emergency room will reopen only for access to Covid positive patients, it was explained.
But for the whole day yesterday and for the night the new garrison was not yet active, as evidenced by the rescuers who even tonight had to manage numerous emergencies and suspected cases of Covid brought as always to Binaghi.
