The cases of Covid in Sardinia are still down by a third: this is revealed by the Gimbe Foundation in the usual monitoring, which however considers the week from 13 to 19 October and therefore does not take into account the increase in infections (28 new cases) reported yesterday by the regional bulletin.

In the week 13-19 October, Gimbe recorded an improved performance for cases of currently positive per 100,000 inhabitants (92) and shows a decrease in new cases (-30.9%) compared to the previous week. The beds in the medical area (3%) and in intensive care (5%) occupied by Covid patients remain below the saturation threshold.

In Sardinia, the population that has completed the vaccination cycle is over 76% (Italy average

74.3%) to which an additional 3.5% (Italian average 3.8%) must be added with the first dose only. This was revealed by the Gimbe Foundation which places Sardinia seventh among the Italian regions for the speed of the campaign in this phase.

According to the Government report, currently there are 1,215,884 Sardinians vaccinated, with a rate of about 3 thousand doses per day, between first and second administrations, while the number of new vaccinated in the week 13-19 October, standardized for 100,000 subjects who have not received not even a dose of the vaccine at 12

October, is equal to 3,733, Gimbe still says.

Finally, the third-dose vaccination coverage rate is 4.1%, against an Italian average of 9.3%.
