The epidemiological curve of the Covid-19 virus in Sardinia continues to worsen .

According to the latest report by the Gimbe Foundation , in the week between 15 and 21 June, the island has an incidence of currently positive per 100,000 inhabitants which rises from 740 to 1028 , but also an increase in new cases by 61, 2% compared to the previous week.

THE BALZO - The greatest leap in the incidence is recorded in the Sassarese area with 93.8% and 380 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants, followed by the metropolitan city of Cagliari with 934 per 100 thousand inhabitants and a + 75.7% compared to the previous week.

Then there is Nuoro with 350 per 100 thousand inhabitants and + 50.3%, South Sardinia (705 and + 42.6%) and then the province of Oristano with 486 and + 18.2%.

HOSPITALS - As regards hospitalizations, the occupancy of beds in the medical area remains below the national average (6.4%), while that of beds in intensive care is above the national average (3.4%).

VACCINES - On the vaccine front, the Gimbe Foundation highlights the percentage of the population over 5 years that has not received any dose of vaccine is 8.1% (Italy average 7%) to which the temporarily protected over 5 year old population must be added, as she was cured of Covid for less than 180 days, equal to 3.8%.

The percentage of the over 5-year-old population that has not received the third dose of vaccine is 9.6% (Italy average 11.5%) to which the over-5-year-old population healed for less than 120 days, who cannot receive the third dose immediately, equal to 6.4%. FOURTH DOSES - The vaccination coverage rate with fourth dose (immunocompromised people) is 43.5% (Italy average 40%), while that for over 80, RSA guests and frail 60-79 people) is 6.9% ( Italy average 19.1%).

Finally, the population aged 5-11 who completed the vaccination cycle is 43.2% (Italy average 34.8%) to which a further 4.4% (Italy average 3.4%) must be added with the first dose only.
