A sandstone paving, probably from ancient times, perhaps the remains of a port, has surfaced near the Scoglio di Peppino in Costa Rei, in the area belonging to the municipality of Muravera , in an archaeological area already surveyed: a discovery that could contribute to write the history of Sarrabus.

"The presence of the pavement was reported to us by several citizens", explained the municipal councilor for the environment, Fabio Piras, "we proceeded to report everything to the Port Authority and to the Archaeological Superintendence and the Fine Arts so that they may take the appropriate measures".

The municipality of Muravera is already at work, given the strong tourist presence in the area, to preserve the state of the places and ensure that the new testimony of the history of south-eastern Sardinia does not suffer damage.

"We will make precise requests to the competent bodies", pointed out the mayor, Salvatore Piu, "if the paved surface turns out to be important from a historical and archaeological point of view, we will ask that the number of bathers who can access the area be limited ".
