Operation of the carabinieri against the illegal hiring in Nuraminis .

The blitz this morning at the first light of dawn, when the military, stationed in the countryside, carried out an inspection of the land, in the locality of "Bruncu Pintus", of a 63-year-old businessman who owns a company specializing in the cultivation of artichokes .
In the fields of the company, foreigners and Italians were at work, who at the sight of the carabinieri tried to leave.
When stopped, the 10 workers (8 non-EU citizens from Senegal, Mali and Guinea and 2 Italians from the area), all turned out to be without a contract of employment , with wages below the minimum wages . The foreigners were all with valid residence permits.
The activity of the carabinieri, carried out in synergy by the men of the Operational Unit of the Sanluri company with the Nuraminis weapon together with the NIL carabinieri and the civil inspectors of the Cagliari Inspectorate, also made it possible to ascertain that shortly before the 10 workers they had been picked up between Nuraminis and Serramanna, at agreed points, by a truck and, sitting on makeshift benches in the vehicle's body, they had been taken to work in the fields .

The owner of the business, originally from Serramanna, was reported for having employed irregular labor and in particular "without communication of the establishment of an employment relationship in excess of 10% (in this case 100%) of the total number of workers.

The production activity of the farm has been suspended . For the entrepreneur there are also penalties of 25 thousand euros and for the violations of the Highway Code for using the truck to transport people.
