The Regional Council of Sardinia yesterday afternoon approved the Program of CORECOM activities for 2024 , after the approval by the second Commission which took place in recent days. The document contains an indication of the main initiatives that will engage the Regional Communications Committee in the coming months. The approval took place yesterday and not in recent months due to the alternation of legislatures at the beginning of the year.
«This is an ambitious program – comments the President of CORECOM Sardinia, Sergio Nuvoli – with which we wanted to give space to the Committee's own and delegated functions. CORECOM monitored compliance with the rules regarding equal conditions in the three electoral rounds that characterized the first part of the year: today we can say that Sardinian journalists have guaranteed a balanced and plural media representation of the different groups that took to the field ».
The "Conciliaweb" promotion campaign will continue , i.e. the system through which CORECOM supports users with specialized operators in disputes with telephone and audiovisual media service operators.
Media education activities will also continue, i.e. education in the conscious use of the means of communication, carried out in collaboration with individual schools and with the networks of schools with which positive agreements have been launched during 2023. Alongside the activated Master's from the University of Sassari, this year CORECOM will also support a specific project presented by the University of Cagliari on the same theme, which will involve students from some schools in the regional territory.
Through collaboration with another university institution, a study and research path will be activated to update the publication "The local media system in Sardinia", created for the first time by CORERAT in 2008 and integrated with subsequent publications. «We want to obtain – explains President Nuvoli – a “photograph” of the world of regional information, a tool that will allow the regional legislator to evaluate – data in hand – an intervention that updates and renews the current financing system».
There will also be space for the now traditional "Gianni Massa" Award : in the 2024 edition, the competition will have as its theme the multiple media representations of violence in our society. As usual there will be three sections: school, university, journalism.
