Ita and Volotea are once again in the running to manage territorial continuity. They are the only two companies to have submitted bids to the latest negotiated procedure launched by the Region. In the afternoon the envelopes were opened and the regularity of the documents contained was examined. Now we will proceed to the in-depth checks of the offers and perhaps tonight there will be the award.

In the meantime, the discounts proposed by the companies to guarantee the six routes between Sardinia and the Peninsula are known.

On the Cagliari-Rome line, Volotea has proposed a discount on the auction base of 41.6%, against Ita's -12%. Then Cagliari-Milan: here too Volotea has an advantage (-41.6%) over Ita (-23%).

On the Alghero-Rome line, Volotea proposed a drop of 23.1%, against 3% for Ita. Alghero-Milan: Volotea is ahead (-23.1%) on Ita (-11%).

Finally, the Gallura sections. On the Olbia-Rome Volotea has proposed a discount of 40.6% against the -15% of Ita, and also on the Olbia-Milan Volotea is ahead (-40.6%) on Ita (-21%).

THE DETAILS OF THE OFFERS - Compared to the starting price of 37 million, Ita presented an offer of 28.4 million (decrease of 8.5 million), Volotea of 21 million (decrease of 15.9 million): a difference of 7 , 3 million which rewards low cost. If he were to win the race, continuity would cost 21 million and not 37 million to the Region's coffers, while with Ita's victory the cost would be 28 million.

THE COUNCILOR - "I believe that there are the conditions for the award of the tender to Volotea, both for the higher discounts presented compared to Ita, and for the documentation that seems to have the credentials". Thus the Councilor for Transport of the Sardinia Region, Giorgio Todde, after the opening of the envelopes with offers for flights in territorial continuity to and from Sardinia from 14 October and for the next 7 months.

"We are interested - the exponent of the council clarified - that regardless of the winning carrier an efficient, clear and comfortable service is guaranteed for Sardinian citizens, for the right to mobility". On the outcome of the tender: "The commission is working in forced stages, we hope that tonight the winning company will be identified to ensure that the public service is not interrupted".
