Criteria defined by April, to open the discussion with the European Commission, and start of the service at the end of October, when the current contracts with Aeroitalia (Cagliari and Olbia), Ita Airways (Alghero) and Volotea (Olbia) expire. These are the times for the start of the new territorial continuity regime for Sardinian air connections.

The price and the number of seats available to passengers are the aspects to be regulated. No single rate for residents and non-residents, in the Transport Department's plan: Europe says no. But a discount for residents (obviously) and other benefits, with a price cap, for emigrants (who have relatives on the Island) and for those who travel for work.

And a maximum ticket price will be established – in line with the ongoing one – also for tourists.
