He was caught by the Carabinieri while he was selling a dose of cocaine to a customer . In Quartu the Carabinieri arrested a 40-year-old unemployed man with a police record. The operation took place last night following a long investigation and shadowing.

The man had been under surveillance for some time: his name had emerged several times during anti-drug operations and several suspicious movements near his home had strengthened the suspicion that he could be a point of reference for local drug dealing.

The turning point came after days of observation, thanks to which the military were able to reconstruct the habits and ways in which the 40-year-old ran his business. During the night, the man was caught while selling a package with 0.20 grams of cocaine to a 37-year-old from Quartucciu. The customer admitted to having purchased for personal use.

The Carabinieri, with the support of the Cagliari Company's Canine Unit, continued the operation with a house search, which led to the discovery of 20 grams of cocaine divided into doses, 530 euros in cash, believed to be the proceeds of drug dealing, two precision scales and material for packaging the drugs .

The 40-year-old was placed under house arrest, pending a summary trial scheduled for this morning. The 37-year-old who purchased the dose was instead reported to the Prefecture as a drug user.
