Requested three sentences and three acquittals in the ongoing trial in Cagliari on an alleged trafficking of clothing with fraud against Caritas .

At the end of more than an hour and a half of indictment, the prosecutor Guido Pani asked for the sentence of one year and four months of the referee for the supply and logistics services of Caritas Andrea Nicolotti, 59 years old from Cagliari, and two years in prison for the owners of Eurofrip di Guarino in Casoria (Naples), Giampiero Cesarini and his wife Rosa Contiello, aged 47 and 43, both resident in Sardinia.
The owner of the investigation, after the discussion, also asked for the acquittal, because the fact does not exist, of the alleged corruption dispute for the 67-year-old entrepreneur Guido Afflitto, originally from Catanzaro, owner of Sarda textile recovery based in Monastir and for Leopoldo Trudu, former Councilor for Public Works of the Municipality of Decimomannu, and Carlo Maramarco, an employee of the same administration.

The investigation started from an anonymous complaint and entrusted to the investigators of the Forestry Corps of Sardinia. Tons of clothes collected for Caritas and destined for the poor would end up in the hands of companies that sold them in the markets of the Peninsula, especially in the stalls in Naples, but also in Africa. In the case of charity, the legislation does not provide for any restrictions: Caritas collects the clothes, selects them and gives them to the needy without further steps. If these same garments are offered for sale, the waste disposal laws apply, as they are used clothes. And it is in this procedure that the irregularities contested by the Prosecutor's Office emerged. On January 20, 2022 the defenses will speak and there will be a sentence.
