It is a clash over the numbers of Sardinia's air territorial continuity. Center-left MPs Silvio Lai (Pd) and Francesca Ghirra (Progressives) give theirs, rejecting the work of the Region. Transport councilor Antonio Moro replies with his followers and rejects the accusations against the sender.

«What emerged this morning during the hearings in the Transport Commission of the Chamber of Silvio Pippobello (Sogeeal Spa Alghero airport and Geasar Spa Olbia airport) and Marino Piga (Sogaer Spa Cagliari Elmas airport) in the context of the fact-finding investigation on the territorial demonstrates the failure of the Solinas junta in the management of the air transport system in Sardinia», argue the centre-left exponents. «The data presented show a strong reduction to Cagliari of passengers who have flown continuously, almost 20% less, despite the greater number of seats available», they observe, «the fact is linked to the two notices issued by the Giunta of Sardinian- Northern League, which reduced the time slots from 6 to 3 at Fiumicino and from 4 to 3 at Milan Linate. Compared to 2019 with the Pigliaru junta, in 2023 flights to Fiumicino were reduced by 17% and to Milan by as much as 32.5%".

"They are looking for a useless and specious political controversy that mortifies the substantial truth of the facts and also common sense": this is Moro's thought on the declarations of political opponents. For the exponent of the Solinas junta " compare the data of air traffic in Sardinia in the current year, excluding among other things those of the summer season that has just begun, with the data of the record year 2019 (over nine million passengers overall, with Cagliari 4,747,806, Alghero 1,390,379 and Olbia 2,978,769) which preceded the collapse of air transport on the island, in Italy (between 2020 and 2019 110 million passengers were lost) and in the world, due to the Covid pandemic, is incongruous and misleading, because it compares incommensurable and incomparable entities with each other".

Moro underlines that in 2019, when Alitalia and Air Italy were still flying, «airline continuity services were managed on the basis of the provisions contained in decree no. 61 of 21 February 2013, signed by the then president Cappellacci which provided for the so-called single tariff for nine months of the year».

The exponent of the Council provides "certain and comparable data, which demonstrate the increase in passengers, flight seats offered and the number of flights in territorial continuity at Cagliari airport in the period January-May 2023, compared to the same period 2022 : Cagliari-Fiumicino +30.79% of passengers, +7.98% of seats offered and +6.42% of flights; Cagliari-Linate +23.02% of passengers, +8.98% of seats offered and +11.78% of flights. The three time slots for continuous flights are also confirmed - concludes councilor Moro -: morning (6-9), central (10-18) and evening (18.30-24) with a deviation of more or less thirty minutes " .
