Ciro Grillo and the three friends accused of group sexual violence against a girl, which took place in Porto Cervo in the summer of 2019, chose the ordinary rite and not the abbreviated one.

Until 3 pm yesterday - October 20 was indicated as the deadline for communication - the criminal chancellery of the Court of Tempio had not received any note from the lawyers of Ciro Grillo, Francesco Corsiglia, Edoardo Capitta and Vittorio Lauria.

And in fact, according to what Ansa learns from sources close to the boys, they will not resort to the abbreviated rite and therefore, in the event of conviction, they will not receive a discount of one third of the sentence. The decision will be communicated in the next few hours to the judge of the preliminary hearing of Tempio Pausania.

A SUFFERING DECISION - The choice to proceed with the ordinary would have been much discussed among the suspects, their parents and lawyers. Two of the boys (Capitta and Lauria) wanted the abbreviation but in the end the line of Grillo and Corsiglia would prevail and therefore the intent to remain united, despite the heavy sentence they risk if they are found guilty.

They range from a minimum of 6 years to a maximum of 12 considering that the disputed facts took place a few days before the entry into force of the red code. In fact, with the new rules it goes from 8 to 14.

THE FACTS - The story dates back to the summer of 2019. The four 19-year-old boys were at Ciro Grillo's house and allegedly repeatedly abused a student they met in a club on the Costa Smeralda.

The young woman explained that she was "insulted and beaten" and that she did not scream because "I couldn't", "I was terrified". "Those kids saw me cry and feel bad, but they laughed at each other."

They would also take obscene photos with a second girl present in the Porto Cervo house, bringing her genitals close to her face while she slept. Shots, the suspects had argued before the magistrates, which had been "a joke in bad taste, not a sexual abuse".
