The second act of the 21st edition of “La Valigia dell'Attore”, staged over the weekend in La Maddalena, with screenings, testimonies, meetings and editorial publications, to celebrate the thirtieth anniversary of the death of Gian Maria Volonté, ends with great public success. And a sad note: the film festival dedicated to the actor's profession and named after Volonté could, in fact, end here.

At the end of the three days, Giovanna Gravina Volonté and Fabio Canu of the Quasar cultural association, organizer of the event, announced the closing of a cycle. In the hope that another one can open. "Working with institutions and public bodies with absurd timeframes that do not allow for the tranquil planning of such a complex event is not easy, which is why we have decided to take a break for reflection and suspend the entire initiative for the moment."

The news has moved the many people present who have collaborated to build a unique event of its kind in Italy , ordinary people and professionals in the sector who have supported morally and practically an adventure that for twenty years has represented an original combination of screenings, meetings and training moments, with the Premio Volonté and the ValigiaLab that have consolidated the cultural growth in the continuous dialogue between professionals, tutors, acting students and the public.

The hope is that “The Actor’s Suitcase” does not end here, and that the organization’s pause for reflection can evolve into an exciting new course.
